Well. What a miserable start to the year. Between the rain, wind and storms there has been minimal riding and I am dangerously close to developing gills.

This month featured a lot of in hand road work due to the weather and although it was brutal it has certainly paid off. Grings and Blaze have been doing the most and, the few times I have been able to enjoy a ride, they have felt really good under saddle.

It can be mindboggling to those outside the equstrian world but for us pony girls, we know a lot of the best horsemanship is slow and technically boring (though I do love our wanders together…just maybe not in the rain).

Going slowly is kind of my mantra. It’s how most progress is achieved here. Slowly.
